In 2002, Intercia S.A. acquired the recycling operations from Reipa, Recesa and Ecuarecicla, retaining the names as part of Intercia’s branding.  The oldest and largest recycling operations in Ecuador thus went through a profound re-engineering stage.  The new administration introduced leaner processes in materials purchases and manufacturing, formalized most of its suppliers, and expanded the customer base internationally.  Intercia provides high quality recycled materials at competitive prices.

Intercia S.A. belongs to the “San Carlos” Group, one of the most important economic groups in Ecuador, with operations in several fields conducted through its companies:

Recisa S.A. was incorporated in October 2004 in order to export PET, it became fully operational in June 2005.

In February 2007 the company brought in line a second recycling plant for Dirty Flake with a processing capacity of 1000 metric tons per month.
